Quick scrap page

It's been a little while since I've posted a blog so sorry for the break. Here is one of my recent creations .... a quick page for princess m's album of her smooching and posing for the camera with her daddy... used some old paper to create this page and followed a sketch I need to find again to quote properly... best thing to say though is I found it through Google searching for a 3 photo layout... then I added loads of ribbon offcuts to add texture and some paper ribbon wrapped around. Finally added some letters from k and co for the title.

Off to watch glee tomorrow ... Horrah! ... but will be back to craft on Thursday and Friday I hope.
Enjoy and have fun crafting all who see this.

A very special retirement card

My papa roel, a very close family friend in the Netherlands, is retiring in a few weeks time after a lifetime service to the dutch police force. He has generously invited my parents to join him for his special day and I am very jealous my parents are going to see all my dutch 'family' and I am not. But I have instead been charged with making a card from the family to him.

So we met our wonderful friends on holiday 17 years ago and have since seen each others families many times so I thought travel as a theme was appropriate.

I tried my best Barbara grey techniques and used some of her stamps alongside some others I had to get the postcard scene and the background.
I added some lovely stampin up ribbon I got from eBay and some lovely patterned paper from my stash and some green card and mounted it all on a white 8 x 8 blank. Added the sentiment tag which I brayered and added the peel off. Then the die cut leaves and the button with some candi inside to finish off.

Enjoy. Really proud of this one. I put my heart into making it and hope my dear papa roel has a fantastic party and an amazing retirement.

One kiss ...

Have been trying to scrap this for literally 6 years ... had the photo printed and the main card that long... literally and today I did it ... woo hoo!

No idea where the card is from now but love the colour and added some lovely lace and ribbon, some gems and a few stencilled hearts with distress inks.

Didn't get round to the other pics today so this is all for today... more to come soon although back to work tomorrow so maybe slightly less crafting for the next couple of days.

Inky and painty fun!

I know I haven't really blogged about the art journalling but believe me it had been keeping me busy and inspired the past few weeks... so I thought I would share a sneaky look at what I created tonight ... other than a huge mess of my hands!

Obviously the journalling part is a little on the private side of things so not much will be shown of my finished project on here but here you can see some of the tags I have completed ready for journalling....

Enjoy! I certainly am!

Happy crafting all.

30 days of lists ....

So as I am completely obsessed with art journalling at the moment I have now enrolled in the following ... 30 days of lists!  It looks fab and was really reasonably priced (in my humble opinion!).  Of course I really should finish off my MIMM with Kirsty Wiseman or even start my ColorCourse with Christy Tomlinson but hey ho ...  another distraction from the cleaning and ironing won't hurt too much will it???

Anyways - off to look at some more arty things whilst princess M and her friend run riot round the house.  Such fun!

My Clarity Barb inspired evening

So after many hours of the lovely Barbara Grey on C and C this weekend I sat down and made some cards whilst watching the shows I'd recorded... and these are my results...

Using some new stampin up ink in the IN COLORS range I stamped this wheel effect using the corner stamp i had bought from Clarity at the NEC. Think the colour is crushed concord. Then added the sentiment in Poppy Parade using a stampin up stamp I bought off eBay.
Then mounted the stamped piece on a strip of the Poppy Parade and then on a navy card blank I bought from Caroles Crafts.

Next up ....

This time a smaller image using a different clarity corner, this time stamped in Poppy Parade, and then added the sentiment from a little set I bought off eBay again. Then used the pear pizazz (?) Ink to do a strip at the bottom of the card blank. Added a banner strip of the Poppy Parade, and then mounted.

Finally, my piece de resistance...

So I did another frame type pattern with the clarity corner again. This time in my big and juicy happy birthday ink pad and added the sentiment from the stampin up eBay set. As my clarity card is only a6 the design didn't fit on the card, but I liked it anyway. Then mounted on two different green patterned paper and onto an a5 card blank. Also added the flower and gem.
Why the piece de resistance? Because I posted the pic on Twitter and Barbara herself reposted it with the comment excellent. The excitement that little action created was amazing!

Anyways ... many more cards made and yet to be photographed so more blog posts to come.

Happy crafting all ... and thanks for stopping by.

Class challenge

So at our last class we were given a scrapbook page in terms of the materials etc and then sent away to do with as we wished. Here is my attempt. I went for a different layout as couldn't remember the one Helen had used etc and also to make the picture I was scrapping work.
All materials stampin up.

And the last for tonight ...

Card I made for my mum from my dad ... I attempted Barbara grey but not obviously as good as her. Dad requested sweetheart and something countryside as they've taken up walking. This was my effort.

And some more ...

So these were the thank-you cards for princess m's teachers...

Used bugaboo digi stamps and coloured with promarker and set up the labels in craftartist etc.

this was made for friend of m's for her birthday. Image was a freebie lotv set of printed images with a magazine. Loved this card and actually followed a sketch ... think it was sweet Sunday sketch one.

Now the test on this post is whether the pics are rotated or not ... sorry if they are a little squiffy.

And some more ...

Whilst I've got it working I thought I might as well ...

Two different cards for my cousins hubbys 30th. Batman digis came from a website ... just googled Batman digi stamps and these turned up...

He is also a music person so the guitar panel was a must.

Another commission ... this time a golden wedding anniversary card. Did some heat embossing on this and used a die through the big shot to create the hearts. Love the paper from craftwork cards and the nice scalloped card.

Well as it worked ...

Thought I'd share some more ...

So this was using the gorgeous magnolia stamp and playing with some other bits and pieces ... including a new rolling type stamp thing from fiskars I got with a mag subscription. Cool huh?

A commission for a graduation with a digi stamp from tiddlyinks... so cute. Love this image. Went for trendy in the background teamed with cute for the image.

New phone app attempt

Time to try a new gadget for blog in the hope I might blog more often. Fingers crossed this works.

This is a quick card I made for a birthday party we were invited to. Used a frame embossing folder and then added the flower and ribbon and then a nestie for the little sentiment which I distressed with spun sugar. Cute.
