Switzerland time... the city of three names

Switzerland is Darcy's prompt for this week in the postcard challenge. I knew immediately what I would be doing as one city in Switzerland means a lot to me as it is where my hubby proposed to me... and I of course said yes!

We stayed in the city of Basel, Basle, Bale for only one day and night so I am eager to return maybe for a special anniversary... why the three names? Well it depends on the language you speak. The city is on the border of France and Germany and just in Switzerland. When you arrive at the airport there are different exits for the different countries so its all a little confusing!

The city is lovely with the Rhine going through with some lovely buildings and architecture to see and we spent the day wandering the city.

In our travels that day we came across a paper museum although hubby and I did decide against going in, and then we saw The Hammering Man.

This is a kinetic sculpture created by Jonathan Brorofsky which although only 15cm thick is 13.5metres tall.

So my sketch on the postcard is the picture I took of the sculpture with my boyfriend, soon to be fiance, now hubby underneath.

I've also included here my scrapbook page from the day in the city I made several years ago so you can see the original photo I sketched this from.

Quality of sketch is not brill but the memories of this day are priceless. Thank you Darcy for inadvertently bringing the romantic out in me... believe me it doesn't happen often.

As for the story...

Florence

I am sorry once again for being vague in my messages, sometimes I have to be careful about what I say or write for reasons I can't quite explain just yet.  Please let me explain something though... your February was my reason for explaining the connection. I know you have struggled with your decision but you were right to do that. I promise you. Boston

Oooh intriguing!

Right off to get my hair chopped. Will be back later.

Thanks for popping by.
