I saw a card on pinterest which I thought I would have a go at. The card in question was black and white but I thought I would change it up a little and go for white black and green.
Unfortunately I can't post the actual picture or even a link as it links to a website I need to join to access which I think is for SU demos only... Sorry!
I started by stamping the main floral image from Fresh Vintage SU set in black onto the green card four times. I then chose a different part of the image to cut out a three cm square. If I had a square punch this would have been much easier and neater but back to basics of the craft knife and mat and ruler for me.
I then mounted these on white and hand cut the border. Again a punch would have been easier. Then I left them to one side to sort out the background of the card. I hand cut the card blank from the green card into a long tent fold. Then mat and layered the front to create the white border. I then stamped the sentiment straight on in black.
Then the squares I layered up in a higgeldy row down the side so that the image seems to flow. I then added the finishing touches with the pale green rhinestones on the images.
Quite pleased with this although I do think the green is rather in your face so probably a more delicate colour would be better. But still I like the effect of the squares.
I am entering this card into the following challenges...
Tuesday throw down ... Use of squares
Stamp n doodle ... Loaded with layers
Crafty sentiments ... Flowers
Friday mash up ... Thank you
- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad which means I probably haven't proof read the above and there is likely to be rubbish included that I probably should have thought about more! So please accept this post as it is and sorry that I didn't take more care!
